Parts, Functions, Defect and Diagram Of the Human Eyes

 The eye is the organ of sight found in animals. In man and some other mammals, it is located in front of the head, while in some other animals it is located at the side of the head. The human eyes is spherical in shape and it is fixed into the  socket. It comprises of many parts which ensures normal image formation. For example the  lid is responsible for the prevention of foreign particles into it. The human eyes is divided into three layers namely :

1. Outermost Sclerotic Layer
2. Middle Choroid layer
3. Inner Retina

Outermost Sclerotic layer: this is the white part of the eye which protects and supports its inner parts . The outermost sclerotic layer also gives shape and firmness to the eye .It consist  of  though, fibrous  and non elastic tissue
Middle Choroid layer: This part of the eyes lids highly vascularized and pigmented. It contains blood capillaries. It is the part of the eye responsible for the absorption of light rays. It also provides food and oxygen to other part of this organ.
Inner retina: It is the sensitive part of the Human eye that receives light and it is on it in which images are formed.

An eye is said to have a defect when it cannot perform its major function adequately. That is, the eyes cannot see very well. High defects include:
Short sightedness
Long sightedness
Presbyopia
Astigmatism
Cataract
Glaucoma
Trachoma
Conjunctivitis
Blepharitis
