Mesothelioma is caused as a result of
continuous inhalation of loose asbestos particles. At the long run, the
particles affect the mesothelial cells covering the longs thereby
resulting into difficulty in breathing.
Since Mesothelioma affect the lungs which is used for respiration and so the disease kills very fast, but if discovered earlier, the patient might still survive to about 5 years, but if discovered lately the patient might die at any time.
Although Mesothelioma cannot be cured, it can be managed for some years through the use of drugs and surgery which might be very costly.
